RESTON, Va. (Dec. 12, 2002)—The Tire Industry Association today opened the search for a new executive vice president to fill the post held by Ross Kogel, who is leaving the organization Feb. 1.
The Reston-based group is looking for someone who is experienced in association or business management with a focus on event management, advocacy, financial and staff development skills. The person selected also will be expected to help carry out TIA's newly released strategic plan, a copy of which is available upon request.
TIA President Tom Raben said in a written statement that applicants' names will be confidential.
Applicants should mail their resume, cover letter and references to the search committee in care of TIA at 11921 Freedom Dr., Suite 550, Reston, Va., 20190. The group is only accepting written inquiries.
The association is considering both internal and external candidates, and is considering hiring a firm to handle the search, TIA said. TIA's nine-member executive committee must approve the candidate.
The search committee includes Steve Disney, TIA immediate past president; Larry Morgan, incoming president; Dick Gust, vice president; and Terry Westhafer, assistant treasurer.
Mr. Kogel announced he is leaving TIA to be closer to family and to work at his father's company, Tire Wholesalers Inc. in Troy, Mich.
