LANGLEY, British Columbia (Dec. 6, 2002) – O.K. Tire Stores Inc. is expanding warehouse capacity in Saskatchewan and evaluating expansions in Ontario and Quebec to keep pace with growth.
The dealer-owned franchising company grew by 13 franchises in 2002 to 225, according to CEO Ken MacLeod, and should add up to 15 more in the coming year. O.K. Tire will report sales of more than $165 million this year, and increase of about 11 percent over 2001.
In recent months the company moved its Saskatoon warehouse to a 5,200-sq.ft. facility and bought a 31,000-sq.ft. warehouse in Regina.
“Both of these moves will ensure that we meet not only the present needs of our customers, but for years to come as well,” said Nelson Gray, senior vice president.
O.K. Tire also is developing expansion plans for warehousing in Ontario and Quebec, where it anticipates growth in the store networks, Mr. Gray said. There are 46 O.K. Tire stores in Ontario and 40 in Quebec, according to the firm's Web site.
