The Car Care Council (CCC) has signed on automotive expert Lauren J. Fix to serve as a national spokesperson for the group's consumer education campaign, ``Be Car Care Aware.''
Ms. Fix will promote the benefits of routine vehicle care, maintenance and repair.
Rich White, CCC executive director, called Ms. Fix ``a perfect fit for the consumer education campaign. She is an experienced automotive expert and a highly credible and believable advocate for consumers.''
``Be Car Care Aware'' is a consumer education campaign about the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair.
Built around three key messages of safety, dependability and pride of ownership, CCC said the campaign is designed to represent and engage all segments of the automotive aftermarket industry.

She has been a guest on numerous TV shows including Oprah!, the Today show, Inside Edition, and several cable TV networks, and has written articles for Motor Trend, Truck Trend, Hot Rod, Car Craft, Good Housekeeping and Self Magazine.
She said the new CCC campaign is ``an outstanding opportunity for me to inform people about the need for preventative vehicle maintenance. This campaign is so important because it will improve road safety, help conserve energy and also help the environment.
``With an automobile being a person's second biggest expense, a preventative schedule will also help a consumer avoid costly repairs in the future.''
