SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Nov. 11, 2002) — In a move to lower overhead costs, Federal-Mogul Corp. is reassessing its corporate location in Southfield.
Under bankruptcy court protection proceedings, the global supplier of automotive components and systems can review contracts such as leases. Federal-Mogul needs less space than it currently has, and believes it can find a more competitively priced office, a company spokeswoman said.
The manufacturer is looking at other properties near its current headquarters, she said, as well as negotiating the possibility of a new lease at its current site.
Federal-Mogul product lines include Wagner Brakes, Moog Chassis Parts and National Oil Seals. The company recently opened a new Friction Products Technical Center in Plymouth Township in Michigan that is dedicated to automotive brake pads and linings.
