FULLERTON, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2002)—Yokohama Tire Corp. said it is postponing until Dec. 1 its previously announced price increases on medium-duty truck, off-the-road, light truck commercial, consumer passenger and light truck tires. The company originally had scheduled the increases for Nov. 1. Yokohama said inventory challenges caused by the recent port closures on the West Coast made it appropriate to delay hiking prices.
The company's previously announced plans call for increases of 3 to 5 percent on medium-duty truck, OTR and light truck commercial tires and increases of 3 and 6 percent on passenger and light truck tires.
