Alliance Tire USA has signed Ag Equipment Specialties (AES) of Mercersburg, Pa., to distribute the Alliance line of farm tires to dealers throughout the U.S. Midwest, Northeast and Middle Atlantic states.
Ag Equipment Specialties is a distributor of farm equipment and components, and also retrofits equipment with accessories to customers' orders. It will service dealers in states east of the Mississippi River as far south as Tennessee/North Carolina from its facility in Mercersburg near the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstates 68 and 81.
The firm's facility includes a 10,000-sq.-ft. warehouse devoted to tires and tire-related equipment, Alliance said. AES will offer both unmounted and mounted (up to 38-inch rims) tires, Allliance said.
AES owner Don Strite is extremely knowledgeable about tires, especially flotation tires, Alliance said, because the company has experience fitting farm vehicles such as manure and silage handling equipment with such tires.
``I've had customers tell me that not having to subsoil their fields saves them enough in a single season to cover the cost of their flotation tires,'' Mr. Strite said.
``And when the window for harvest or application gets shortened by wet weather, flotation tires really show their value.''
Other Alliance distributors in the U.S. include Kansasland/Nebraskaland Tire, Dunlap & Kyle Inc./Hesselbein Tire, Del-Nat Tire Corp. and Les Schwab Tire Centers Inc.
