MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Oct. 10, 2002) — American Car Care Centers is unveiling a new tire this month to its 1,000-plus dealers nationwide.
The new American Gold Edition will fill the premium level slot in the American Radial product lineup and be co-branded with Uniroyal. The tire will be an exclusive offering featuring both brand names.
The Uniroyal American Gold edition will come in 21 SKUs and feature a 600 AB UTQG rating in both black and white sidewalls. ACCC will back the tire with a four-year, 70,000-mile warranty.
The new Gold is part of a repositioning of the American radial line, ACCC said. The American Bronze has been eliminated for a more aggressively priced entry-level tire and the American Silver has been repositioned to be more competitive as a step-up tire.
ACCC also is rolling out what it called its biggest consumer promotion ever to launch the Uniroyal American Gold. Starting Nov. 1, customers who buy four American Golds will receive a custom-made BMX bike free. Participating dealers also will receive ad support material and dollars, point-of-purchase display packages and AmeriCash incentives at the retail level.
