CALGARY, Alberta-David Leonard Paquin died April 21 in Calgary, Alberta. He was 63.
Mr. Paquin was in the tire industry for much of his professional life and was a member of the Western Canada Tire Dealers Association.
Mr. Paquin was employed as a salesman with Remco Tire Distributors Inc. for several years before leaving to start his own company with a brother.
The two opened The Tire Shop in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and ran that business for about eight years, according to a spokesman for the WCTDA.
The association spokesman said that after his business venture didn't work out, Mr. Paquin returned to work as a tire technician, which is how he finished his career.
``He was a good salesman at Remco,'' the spokesman said. ``He did a good job for them.''
Mr. Paquin is survived by his wife Gale, mother Jean, son Doug and daughter-in law Shaundra, daughter Lori Kauffman, four grandchildren and four brothers and two sisters.

Blaine Ross Lord
SUN CITY, Calif.-Blaine Ross Lord died June 15 in Sun City, Calif. He was 81.
Mr. Lord opened his dealership, Lord Tire, in Bellflower, Calif., in 1960. He was president of the company until retiring in 1986. The dealership expanded to five locations by the time he left the business.
A veteran of World War II, Mr. Lord, who served in the Navy, is survived by wife Irene, son Dave, daughters Sharon, Connie and Carol and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
