FINDLAY, Ohio (Aug. 19, 2002) — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has launched a business-to-business Web site that allows the Findlay-based tire maker's customers to place orders, among other business activities, via the Internet.
CooperWorld.Net allows on-line access to customers wanting to place orders, check order status, view and print invoices and view product information, among other services.
“CooperWorld.Net uses encryption and secure portal technology to protect the integrity of the site and give customers the utmost in security,” Cooper Special Projects Manager George Lance said. “With the portal, participants are given a username and password allowing for a one-on-one experience every time the site is accessed. Only individual customers will have access to their information — most any time of day, any day of the week.”
Cooper said the site will be enhanced with new features regularly, as customers become more involved with the application and suggest ways for the site to be more efficient.
The site was used for seven months by 15 pilot customers.
“CooperWorld.Net has been a great help at Speck Sales (in Bowling Green, Ohio),” owner Terry Speck said. “It´s a quick and reliable way to see the availability of products, makes it easy to see the status of a back order, helps us find missing invoices and makes it possible to find out more information about deliveries.”
