RESTON, Va. (Aug. 6, 2002) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) announced its schedule of special events for the association's International Tire Expo, Nov. 5-8 in Las Vegas.
Highlights include: a reception at the Harley Davidson CafÃ&Copy;, a keynote address by Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind man to climb Mt. Everest, induction of the Class of 2002 into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame and speeches by Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. CEO Tom Dattilo and the TIA incoming and outgoing presidents.
“We have a terrific lineup of speakers,” TIA Executive Vice President Ross Kogel said. “This year we will focus on the achievements of extraordinary people. The accomplishments of Erik Weihenmayer, the Hall of Fame inductees, and TIA volunteers will be honored at these all-industry events.”
The TIA Gala Reception, Nov. 4, is the opening event for the annual trade show. Tickets are $40. The Hall of Fame Breakfast and TIA's annual meeting will be held Nov. 5 at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino. Tickets are $30.
TIA's Breakfast with the President will be Nov. 6, also at the Aladdin, with speeches given by Mr. Dattilo, along with outgoing TIA President Steve Disney and incoming president Tom Raben. Cooper Tire will give away $20,000 to one prize-winning attendee. Tickets are $30.
