Mechanic's vises
Ken Tool has introduced two professional mechanic's vises, the KT4650 and the KT4800, designed for use with specialty tires and wheels.
The KT4650 is a 61/2-inch reversible vise, which the company said offers increased grip when used in the reverse position. The KT4800 is an 8-inch reversible vise. Each has two large anvils providing ample work surfaces, the company said.
The vises' jaw faces are reversible heat-treated carbon-steel with a vertical V notch for holding pipe and cylindrical objects. A gear-type locking system with double lock-down bolts keeps each vise from moving while locked down.

Lubricant system
Alemite Corp. has introduced its new Automated Grease System (AGS), a compact package that controls lubricant delivery to multiple bearing points on machinery and mobile equipment.
A series of pistons allows the AGS to distribute lubricant to six, 12 or 18 outlets, the company said. The piston block can be configured to meet lubrication requirements of a variety of bearings, Alemite said.
The system's three components-pump, controller and metering valve-are contained in a single unit that comes with all fittings and tubing needed to complete installation.
Alemite also has published a 132-page catalog of lubrication and supplies. It features pumping systems, grease guns, auto grease systems, grease fittings, meters, reels and MRO lube supplies, among other things. Also included are performance charts, installation tips and ordering information.

Tire repair units
Patch Rubber Co., a unit of Myers Industries Inc., has introduced its new line of STS (``stronger than steel'') bias and radial tire repair units reinforced with aramid fibers to create stronger, lighter, more flexible repairs.
Aramid, used in extreme performance conditions such as body armor and airplane fuselages, performs successfully in high heat and extensive sidewall flexing found in OTR tires, the company said. Its reinforcement capability also reduces the ``bulge effect'' in radial sidewall section repairs, Patch added.
The STS line is available with Dual Cure cushion gum to cure chemically or with heat and pressure.
