CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 3, 2002)—One year after launching its ground-breaking online rewards program for independent tire dealers and just prior to changing its name to American Tire Distributors, Heafner Tire Group Inc. reports that more than 2,500 dealers nationwide are participating in its HeafNet Rewards program.
In celebration of the July 1 anniversary of the HeafNet Rewards start-up, the company will hold a sweepstakes for online users.
The sweepstakes will run through Aug. 31 and feature a grand prize of 1 million HeafNet Rewards points, which can be redeemed for airline tickets, travel packages, electronics, cameras, pool tables and other travel and merchandise gifts.
HeafNet users also earn points with each order placed. During the program's first year, users earned more than 13 million points, the company said
“Over the last few years, HeafNet Online has become an integral part of the service package we offer to independent tire dealers,” President and CEO Dick Johnson said in a statement. “Their rapid acceptance of HeafNet Rewards shows how much HeafNet has simplified ordering for them.”
Despite Heafner's name change, which will take place July 4, the HeafNet moniker will remain, said a company spokesman, noting that name is “a tribute to our heritage and a brand icon.”
