CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 14, 2002) — Continental Tire North America Inc. has introduced three replacement tires for its Brigadier private label line, including two truck tires and one passenger tire.
New to the light truck market are the Sidewinder SUV and Sidewinder All Terrain. Under its Minerva line, the company is introducing Minerva Star and Minerva Super passenger tires.
The Sidewinder SUV, with 19 P-metric and three LT sizes, features an outlined white letters (OWL) sidewall and is M- and S-rated for all-season performance. Set to debut in June or July, it will replace the Sidewinder AP and Sidewinder AS designs.
The Sidewinder All Terrain has two P-metric, four flotation and nine LT sizes. With interlocking tread blocks, it offers improved traction in mud, sand and snow, Continental said. It will be introduced in September/October and will replace the Sidewinder AT.
The Minerva Star and Super line features a T- and H-rated line of 70, 65 and 60 series sizes produced in several European factories owned by Continental. The Minerva line will be shipped to the Charlotte-based tire maker's Gainesville, Ga., mixing warehouse and shipped out as part of the Brigadier program. Fifty-five, 50, 45 and 40 series sizes will eventually complete the size range.
