AKRON (June 12, 2002) – Brazil's INFO EXAME magazine has named Goodyear Brazil as one of the leading companies in that country conducting business over the Internet.
The magazine released results of a survey conducted with the largest companies using business-to-business Web applications. Goodyear, the only tire company on the list, ranked 14th out of 100.
The ranking was based on the volume of sales Goodyear conducts through E-SIGLA—a Web-based application that allows its Brazilian tire dealers, retreaders and engineered products distributors to enter orders, print invoices and see shipment records and accounts receivable information.
"This confirms our leadership position in the B-to-B arena in Latin America and illustrates the great work promoting the use of our B2B application done by our associates in Brazil," Rui Moreira, regional e-Business manager for Goodyear's Latin America region said in a statement.
"This survey also gives us great motivation to plan our future e-Business projects,” he added. “We know there are still many opportunities to pursue in the Internet world today but we are excited to be ahead of our competitors at this moment."
