BETHESDA, Md. (June 10, 2002) — The Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo will unveil what it's billing as the “dream garage of the future” at the AAPEX trade show in Las Vegas Nov. 5-8.
The new exhibit at the annual show—which runs concurrently with the Specialty Equipment Market Association/International Tire Expo in Las Vegas—will feature “SmartGarage.” Created exclusively for Popular Science magazine, the display will include a workshop area, a kitchen nook, a loft for office and entertainment, a phone, intercom and Internet access, an entertainment system and other features.
Bill Glasgow Sr., AAPEX show manager, said the SmartGarage is one of a number of “new and exciting features” at the upcoming show. The exhibit will be located next to the NASCAR exhibit on the upper level of the Sands Expo Center. It will, he added, allow attendees to “go home with some ingenious and wild ideas for their own garage.”
The AAPEX show features some 1,700 exhibitors and is jointly sponsored by the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA).
