For companies or individuals considering entering the fast-lube business, the industry is represented by the Automotive Oil Change Association (AOCA).
The non-profit Dallas-based trade organization, founded in 1987, said its mission is dedication to ``enhancing the competency of fast lube owners, educating the public about services our members offer and maintaining a favorable business environment for the industry as a whole.''
According to the group's Web site, www.aoca.org, the AOCA provides technical training for lube center employees.
For business owners and managers, the organization said it ``provides programs designed to enhance management skills, automotive engineering and industry issues
It also serves as a resource of information for consumers regarding the benefits of regular, preventive maintenance in protecting their automotive investment.''
AOCA has more than 1,200 members representing over 3,500 auto maintenance centers throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada, as well as member centers in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, the Far East and Central and South America.
