AKRON (April 1, 2002)-Did you catch the photo in our last issue, and also on the Tire Business Web site recently, of Michelin's Bibendum mascot “campaigning as the mayor of mobility” in front of Goodyear's headquarters in Akron, with the Goodyear blimp keeping watch over head?


It seems the battle for tire supremacy has spread to corporate icons as well.


What's next, Goodyear's Sam Gibara and Michelin North America's Jim Micali in a made-for-TV CEO boxing match? Let's hope not.
