Texas group's meeting in Houston
AUSTIN, Texas-The Texas Tire Dealers Association will hold its annual convention/tire expo April 18-20 at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Houston.
The convention will kick off with a golf tournament April 18. Steve Disney, president of the Tire Association of North America, will give a ``State of the Industry'' address on April 20. Michael Clayton, president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau of southeast Texas, will deliver the keynote speech on ``Three Imperatives for Business Success.''

TRIB names two board directors
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif.-The Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) has announced the election of two new members to its board of directors.
David McAmmond of Canadian Treads Corp. in Edmonton, Alberta, and Jack Woodland of Marangoni North America in Walnut Creek, Calif., each were elected to three-year membership terms Feb. 20 at TRIB's meeting in Louisville, Ky.
Meanwhile, Harvey Brodsky, TRIB's managing director, will be the featured speaker May 21 at the Transportation Safety Conference, sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation, in Topeka, Kan.
Mr. Brodsky will address ``The Trouble with Tires (They are too Good)'' at the Topeka Capitol Plaza Hotel and Maner Conference Center. Some 300 attendees-including law enforcement personnel, judges, city and county government officials, bus drivers, safety advocates and others interested in transportation safety-are expected.
