AKRON (March 25, 2002)—Saying it wanted a “visually more exciting and flexible page,” Goodyear has redesigned its Web site. The new site includes several new features.
Among the highlights are “mouse-overs,” or changes occurring when the user moves the cursor over text or graphics. As users scroll over text links, Goodyear-related photos change on the left-hand side of the page.
The site also features a message center at the bottom-right corner of the page which will be a marketing tool. In certain instances, users can click on a photo or headline text to get more information.
The page's background tire graphic randomly changes whenever the homepage is reloaded. Four different tires are featured from Goodyear´s European Union, Latin American and North American Tire businesses.
“We wanted to create a … page that also offers greater usability for our visitors from around the world, as well as increased ease of navigation,” said Pamela J. Cole, Goodyear´s manager, Web site operations. “Goodyear´s global business units will be able to better feature new products, innovative services and other important announcements.”
