LANGLEY, British Columbia (March 22, 2002)—O.K. Tire Stores Inc. tapped Jean Trudel as chairman of the board of directors during its annual conference in Phoenix.
The Langley-based firm elected Mr. Trudel after Al Santing, chairman of the board since 1989, chose not to seek re-election in order to pursue personal interests.
“The work that Al performed in leading many of the changes that we are going through in the organization is well appreciated,” O.K. President Don Blythe said. “His leadership will be missed.”
Mr. Trudel operates an O.K. Tire store in Shawinigan, Quebec and has been an O.K. Tire member since 1996. In addition to his election, the board elected its first female board member, Lee Shaw, from Thornbury/Clarksburg, Ontario.
O.K. Tire Stores Inc. is a dealer-owned company with 215 independent tire and auto service locations across Canada. It posts annual retail sales in excess of $250 million (Can.).
