    Socket set

    S-K Hand Tool Corp. has introduced two 3/8-inch drive semi-deep socket sets, available in both metric and fractional sizes.

    The semi-deep socket design allows access in work spaces where conventional deep sockets are too big and standard sockets won't work, the company said.

    The socket sets come in 10- and 12-piece sets. The 10-piece fractional set includes sizes from 5/16-inch to 7/8-inch. The 12-piece metric set covers sizes from 8 millimeters to 19 millimeters.

    Rim cleaner

    Great Lakes Powder & Finishing Equipment has introduced the GLPX Extreme rim blaster for rapid cleaning of steel or aluminum truck rims.

    The system uses a .170-.330 millimeters steel shot to blast away dirt, grease, oil, stones and other road elements.

    The unit features an elevator system to clear out particulate to keep the shot clean with each cycle, Great Lakes said.

    The GLPX is designed to remove 100 percent of powder coatings on 95 percent of rims. It is capable of cleaning rims of up to 261/2 inches in diameter, the company said.

    The rim blaster carries a two-year warranty.

    Fluid dispensing meter

    National-Spencer Inc. has introduced the 1522 Zee Line Digital Preset Meter for use in dispensing all engine-related fluids. The meter is ideal for quick lubes, automotive service and plant maintenance, National-Spencer said.

    Featuring an automatic cut-off when a pre-set level is reached, the 1522 Zee Line meter can dispense in pints, gallons, quarts and liters, the company said. The meter features a five-digit display, takes four AAA batteries (with low-battery indicator) and has a back-up battery to prevent memory loss. The meter carries a two-year warranty.

    The company also has introduced lubrication transfer and storage products, the N-S Diamond selection.

    Catalogs

    Goodall Manufacturing/Matson-USA has published a catalog detailing its ``single source'' line of battery cables, clamps, portable starters, boosters, surge supressors and other accessories.

    The catalog features a parts numbering system to expedite reference and ordering, Goodall/Matson said. Packaging is designed to accommodate retailers' and wholesalers' needs.

    The new line of equipment includes battery/starter cables with either copper or lead termination; brass copper and lead battery terminals and plugs; jumper cables for automotive, heavy-duty and commercial use; several battery boosting units; a variety of hand-held and bench-top battery chargers; surge suppressors; shrink tubing and ties; and an assortment of battery tools.

    Compressors

    Bend-Pak Inc. has introduced the Ranger Tri-Max Series compressors.

    The air compressors feature the Tri-Max three-cylinder pump designed to operate at maximum efficiency under all load conditions, Bend-Pak said.

    The cast-iron pump has a ``W-3'' configuration to provide 360-degree cooling efficiency and splash lubrication, the company said.

    Service truck

    Stellar Industries Inc. is offering the Model 3315 electric/hydraulic crane and the UC-9 service body.

    The Model 3315 crane has an 11,500-foot/pound capacity and can lift a maximum of 3,200 pounds at three feet.

    The 9-foot UC-9's service body features 32.5 cubic feet of enclosed storage space and a 67-cubic-ft. load bed.

    Screwdriver

    Sidewinder Products Corp. has debuted Speed Driver, a two-speed ratchet action screwdriver.

    Speed Driver functions similar to standard reversible ratchet drivers and features an innovative planetary gearing that provides faster operation, the company said.

    Vehicle mover

    Rod Brown Engineering Ltd., based in Stockholm, Sweden, has introduced the Stringo 550 vehicle mover. Designed to move vehicles up to five tons in auto service shops, the battery-operated Stringo has a 1,500-watt motor.

    With an adjustable ground clearance of between 2 and 4.8 inches, the unit can have a vehicle ready for transport within five seconds, the firm said. The model has an emergency brake and stops automatically should the operator lose his grip on the controls.

    Designed to accommodate all vehicles, from cars to light trucks or buses, the unit has a turning radius of the car length plus 32 inches.
