RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2002)—Tire Kingdom Inc. has expanded its presence in the Southeast with the opening of six stores.
The retailer, a subsidiary of Memphis, Tenn.-based TBC Corp., recently opened locations in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; Jacksonville, Fla., Mooresville, N.C.; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Oviedo, Fla. The new stores bring Tire Kingdom's total number of outlets to 186 in six states.
Orland Wolford, president and CEO of Tire Kingdom, said additional stores are under construction in Rock Hill, S.C.; Concord, N.C.; Slidell, La.; Luling, La.; Hammond, La.; and Charlotte, N.C. Those outlets are expected to open in the first half of 2002. Mr. Wolford added that future expansion would continue to be fueled by a combination of in-house development and acquisition opportunities.
