PASADENA, Md. (Jan. 22, 2002)—The Maryland Tire Dealers Association has merged with the Chesapeake Automotive Wholesalers Association to form the Chesapeake Automotive Business Association (CABA).
The new group represents tire dealers, jobbers, warehouses, automotive repair and manufacturer's representatives. More than 300 automotive aftermarket members are included in CABA.
The boards and members of the two associations met Dec. 17 to vote on the merger, new name and logo. CABA will continue to provide legislative oversight at the state and federal levels, as well as offer group programs and continue operating a credit union.
The new association also plans to reach out to small repair shops and offering them technical training programs.
