WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.-Wrenchead Inc. and ASA Tire Systems Inc. have formed a software-technology partnership aimed at improving the profitability of customers using ASA's point of sale software.
Wrenchead, which markets e-commerce enabled software and electronic cataloging solutions, plans to integrate its ``Vision Estimator'' software with ASA's point-of-sale solutions, providing ASA's customers with a ``powerful new tool to speed the estimating process and improve profitability,'' the companies said.
In partnering with Wrenchead, users of ASA's TireMax and TirePro products will be able to quickly and accurately estimate the labor of all components and the necessary parts for a particular automotive service job using the Wrenchead catalog database, then pull that directly into the ASA point-of-sale application, according to a joint news release issued by the companies.
A number of ASA Tire Systems' customers have expressed ``the importance of a fully integrated parts and labor database at the point-of-sale,'' said ASA President Wayne Croswell. ``By eliminating the need to quote a job, then re-enter that job into the point-of-sale application, we are providing a tool that should significantly enhance the efficiency on the store level.''
Kyle Johnson, vice president of Wrenchead's catalog division, said ``Vision Estimator makes it easy to gather the parts and labor information to create accurate job estimates. When you couple that with ASA's point-of-sale tools, tire dealers have a complete estimate-to-invoice solution that just hasn't been available until now.''
ASA Tire Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nashua, N.H.-based ASA International Ltd. The company, which develops and builds enterprise-wide software solutions, said it ``delivers support and services, and enables independent tire dealers to achieve a maximum return on their information technology investment.''
Wrenchead claims it produces the industry's only Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association-compatible electronic parts catalog, with more than 56,000 installations nationwide. The company said its products connect warehouse distributors and installers ``through a neutral and open environment, which enhances the flow of parts purchasing information.''
