Tire Business received the following letter from the presidents of the Tire Association of North America and the International Tire & Rubber Association regarding the planned merger of the two associations.
If you are a member of the International Tire & Rubber Association (ITRA) or the Tire Association of North America (TANA), you should vote in favor of the proposed merger.
In the coming weeks, thousands of professionals in the tire industry will receive a ballot in the mail, asking them to vote on the subject of merging the industry's two largest associations.
There are numerous reasons to support the merger.
Merging ITRA and TANA will focus the industry's non-profit efforts into a single organization. It will end competition between the groups to the benefit of our members. And the merger will increase the associations' economy of scale.
In the end, we can do together what cannot be done alone.
The merged organization will provide a single voice for businesses in the industry. It will add value to membership, as the new organization will have more services, facilities and resources to serve members.
The new organization will help us continue over 80 years of effective non-profit work in the tire industry. Our efforts provide valuable certification programs, trade shows, representation in Washington and dozens of other services that help tire businesses thrive.
The resulting non-profit will help the entire industry, and virtually every major trade publication, company and industry leader has voiced their support for the merger. Now it's your turn.
Do your part. Help the industry. Vote in favor of the proposed ITRA and TANA merger.
