MEMPHIS, Tenn.-Claude Case, president of Charlie Case Tire in Phoenix, has been reappointed as the chairman of American Car Care Centers Inc.'s board of directors, ACCC announced. It will be the third term for Mr. Case, who was unanimously approved by the board.
The third term is a departure of sorts for ACCC. Its charter calls for election of a new chairman every two years. But ``the group felt strongly that with the myriad of changes and events both in and out of the industry, that stability and consistent leadership would be best for the organization,'' said Len Lewin, president and COO for ACCC.
Mr. Lewin credited Mr. Case with moving ACCC forward, pointing to its current membership of 1,035 as one of the most obvious examples.
Mr. Case said in a statement he enjoyed being chairman, yet did some soul searching before agreeing to run for an additional term. ``I had to ask myself if I was the best choice to lead the group for another two years,'' he said. ``ACCC has grown substantially over the past two years and the position has become extremely demanding. I still enjoyed working with the group, and agreed to accept the nomination only if the board was in unanimous agreement.''
Mr. Case joined his family's business in 1971, when he also became president of the now-56-year-old dealership. He recently agreed to sell the firm to Am-Pac Tire Distributors in Simi Valley, Calif., also an ACCC member.
