MEMPHIS, Tenn.-TBC Corp. has signed a 10-year supply agreement with Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., which makes many of the Multi-Mile, Cordovan and Sigma private-label tires distributed by TBC.
TBC CEO Larry Day said that although the company's previous supply agreement was scheduled to run through 2004, ``it's the 30th anniversary of our two companies' relationship, and to reinforce the importance of this agreement, we're signing it now.
``TBC is a much larger and more diverse company than we were only five years ago. Our relationship with key suppliers like Cooper Tire provides a foundation stone for future growth and expansion,'' Mr. Day said.
Cooper President, Chairman and CEO Tom Dattilo said his company's commitment to TBC and the private brand tire market is stronger today than ever.
``An agreement like the one we signed gives clear evidence of our intention to remain in this marketing arena long term,'' he said.
TBC, one of the North America's largest marketers of automotive replacement tires using a multi-channel marketing strategy, retails through 175 company-owned Tire Kingdom outlets as well as through 526 franchised stores carrying the Big O Tires banner.
The Memphis-based company also wholesales tires to customers operating more than 200 regional distribution centers throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
