LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The International Tire & Rubber Association will conduct a series of regional Commercial Tire Service Technician Training & Certification seminars in 2002.
The workshops will consist of two one-day classroom sessions in each city to allow technicians to attend without disrupting normal business operations. Both ITRA members and non-members will be charged the same registration fee as a service to the industry, the association said.
The first two regional CTS Training & Certification seminars will be held Jan. 16-17 at the Holiday Inn in Fairlawn, Ohio, near Akron. The second series of two seminars is set for Feb. 20-21 at the William Tell Holiday Inn in Countryside, Ill., near Chicago.
ITRA said it plans to work closely with state dealer groups to encourage participation. Future dates and locations will be announced as they become available.
The sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students have the option of taking the certification exam immediately following the session. Advance registration costs $225 for individuals who need a copy of the 250-page ITRA “Commercial Tire Service Manual” and $150 for those who already own a manual.
On-site registration costs an additional $25. The deadline to pre-register for the Akron class is Jan. 10 and Feb. 14 for the Chicago class.
