Plug at your firm's peril



AKRON (Nov. 30, 2001—It's hard to believe some outlets still repair tires using only outside-in plugs. But one tire dealer recently told us he's amazed at the number of tires he sees that have been repaired using only plugs.

Considering the legal ramifications of not following industry-recommended procedures, dealerships still plugging are inviting disaster. Not only are they playing Russian roulette with their businesses, but also with the safety of customers. We can't stress enough the importance of repairing tires properly—which includes de-mounting and inspecting them for possible internal damage.
