WASHINGTON (Nov. 2, 2001)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association praised the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's decision to postpone full implementation of new occupational injury reporting rules involving ergonomics-related injuries and hearing loss.
“OSHA has taken the appropriate action,” RMA President Donald B. Shea said in a press release. “Neither of these reporting requirements would enhance worker safety.”
In September, the RMA commented to OSHA that the rules would only increase recordkeeping burdens on employers without enhancing worker safety.
