AGOURA HILLS, Calif.- J.D. Power and Associates said it has revised the previously published results of its 2001 Original Equipment Tire Customer Satisfaction Study giving Michelin the No. 1 ranking in the light truck as well as passenger tire category.
Previously, the firm had ranked Dunlop No. 1 in the LT category.
The company said it revised the findings after learning that a small proportion of the respondents had incorrectly listed tire brands not available as OE on their vehicles. J.D. Power said the study's subsequently revised findings did not affect the No. 1 ranking in the study's passenger and compact van category, where the Michelin brand retained its leadership followed by Pirelli and BFGoodrich, which tied for second place.
The revised results place Dunlop and BFGoodrich second and third in the LT category followed by Uniroyal, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Continental and Yokohama brands.
