LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 4, 2001)— The International Tire & Rubber Association Foundation Inc. has published next year's schedule of Commercial Tire Service (CTS) training and certification programs for instructors and managers as well as specialized tire retreading and repair educational opportunities—in English and Spanish.

Courses outlined for the year 2002 will take place at ITRA's training center in Louisville, Ky., which includes a fully operational truck tire and wheel service shop and a tire retreading and repair plant.

The association said that along with supervised hands-on instruction and classroom instruction, students will receive the latest and best information from manuals, safety videos and other educational materials. ITRA members receive a discount on all educational programs and instructional and safety materials.

Since its inception in 1996, approximately 700 individuals have participated in the CTS instructor program. In turn, those certified have trained 5,300 CTS technicians in the field.
