WAYNE, N.J. (Oct. 3, 2001)—Hankook Tire America Corp., a subsidiary of Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. in South Korea, has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross.
In making the donation, excutives of the Wayne-based company pointed to the tireless efforts of the Red Cross in aiding the victims and families of the disastrous Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
Hankook said its nationwide network of dealers and employees throughout the U.S. also have contributed individually as well to numerous not-for-profit relief agencies and community support groups.
"So many people have been affected by this enormous tragedy," said J. W. Choi, president and CEO of Hankook Tire America. "We are pleased to do our part to help alleviate the anguish of the families and communities that have been dealt such a severe blow as a result of these attacks.
"America gives so much to all of us every day. It´s natural to want to give something back — especially in this most urgent time of need," Mr. Choi said.
