Pep Boys-Manny, Moe & Jack has selected Johnson Controls Inc. as a supplier of automotive, marine and utility batteries.
Under the multi-year agreement that began July 1, Johnson Controls is supplying Pep Boys' complete battery line, including Johnson Controls Optima and Energizer brands and Philadelphia-based Pep Boys' private label ProStart brand.
Based on distribution and early sales, Valvoline Co. said its introduction last year of MaxLife motor oil has been one of the most successful new product launches in the company's 135-year history.

Continental Teves, based in Frankfurt, Germany, has been named the sole supplier of anti-lock brake systems (ABS) for the recently launched 2002 DaimlerChrysler A.G.-made Jeep Liberty.
The firm said it will produce the ABS unit at its electronic brake system plant in Morganton, N.C. Continental Teves is a unit of Hanover, Germany-based Continental A.G.
