DES MOINES, Iowa (JULY 27, 2001)—Construction equipment giant Caterpillar Inc. now is offering four different types of its skid-steer tires, which are made by Titan International Inc. at its Des Moines, Iowa, tire plant.
The available models—all marketed under the Caterpillar brand name—are the Premium Conventional, Cat Low Sidewall (LSW), Premium Flotation and Extreme Duty Solid. The first three types are pneumatic tires, Caterpillar said.
The tires are available on Caterpillar equipment and in the aftermarket. Titan has been making the tires since 1999. The two firms also will collaborate on tire and wheel assemblies for telescopic handlers and backhoes, said Titan CEO and President Maurice Taylor Jr.
