MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (July 17, 2001)-Premier Rubber Co. Inc., a Massapequa-based supplier of retread buffings and buffing dust to the rubber recycling industry, plans to sue recycling giant LandStar Inc. for non-payment of debt.
Premier has been waiting for payment on about $30,000 worth of unscreened buffings delivered to LandStar´s Chambersburg, Pa., plant last January, according to Premier VP Gene Walker.
"I´ve been working with them the best I can," Mr. Walker said. "I want to collect my debt, that´s all I´m looking for." Dan McVicker, Landstar executive vice president, expressed surprise at the news about the suit.
"We´ve got a number of material suppliers, and I don´t even know if he´s one of them," he said.
