MONTREAL (July 13, 2001)—Tirex Corp. said in a news release it has obtained an order of 10,000 pounds per month of its Rutex recycled rubber from Xerus Corp. Xerus plans to make 40,000 mudflaps and athletic surface tiles initially from Rutex.
Tirex in May announced a joint venture with Xerus, a newly formed manufacturer of composite materials using recycled rubber and plastic.
Tirex produces Rutex using its patented TCS-1 cryogenic tire grinding technology at its Montreal headquarters.
Xerus, with offices in Montreal and Quebec City, will supply mudflaps to the Festival des Transporteurs Routiers du Quebec, which in turn will supply them to several transport organizations including the Quebec Ministry of Transport.
