Toyo raising tire prices Aug. 1
CYPRESS, Calif.-Following the lead of several other tire makers, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. is raising tire prices effective Aug. 1.
Citing rising raw material and energy costs, the U.S. unit of Japan's Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd., said it plans to raise prices on passenger tires 3 percent and light truck tires up to 3 percent.
In announcing the increase, Toyo joins nine other U.S. tire manufacturers that are hiking tire prices this summer.
Toyo also announced that it is moving its headquarters into a new, larger building in Cypress close to its current location (See story on page 4).
