Guy S. Anderson
TUCKER, Ga.-Guy S. Anderson, 76, former owner of Anderson Tire Co. in Tucker died June 3 in Cleveland, Ga.
Mr. Anderson ran his business out of his home for 12 years until he retired in 1993.
A former member of the Georgia Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, he is survived by his wife, Doris, two children, four stepchildren and a brother.
Harold James
COLUMBUS, Ohio-Harold James, founder of Capital City Tire and Retread Inc. in Columbus and a past president of the Ohio Tire Dealers & Retreaders Association, died March 16. He was 75.
After serving in World War II, Mr. James started in the tire business by working for a Firestone store in Columbus. He founded Capital City Tire in 1970 and went on to serve as OTDRA president from 1976-77.
Mr. James was succeeded as president of the dealership by his son, Jeff, who sold the business two years ago to W.D. Tire Warehouse, also in Columbus.
Mr. James is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons, including Jeff, two daughters and three grandchildren.
Jimmie Bonds
CHASSAHOWITZKA, Fla.-Jimmie Bonds, 46, owner of Main Street Auto & Tire in Hawthorne, Fla., died June 2.
According to a newspaper report, Mr. Bonds borrowed a boat and was planning to celebrate his fifth wedding anniversary by taking his wife for a boat ride, then to dinner. Mr. Bonds apparently died when his boat was hit head-on by another boat.
Mr. Bonds opened Main Street Auto & Tire, a one-store dealership with three bays, in the mid-'90s. It sells Cooper, Michelin and Uniroyal tires, along with the Starfire brand.
He leaves his wife Esther, four daughters, a stepson and two brothers.
