CYPRESS, Calif. (June 26, 2001)—Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. is raising tire prices effective Aug. 1 and is moving into a new headquarters, located a short distance from its current facility, on July 1.
Citing rising raw material and energy costs, the U.S. unit of Japan's Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd., said it will boost passenger tire prices 3 percent and light truck tires up to 3 percent. In announcing the increase, Toyo joins nine other U.S. tire makers hiking tire prices this summer.
Toyo also is moving its headquarters into a new building in Cypress. The new unit, which is situated two building away from the current facility, contains 23,000 square feet of space and offers a more customized office environment for greater efficiency, Toyo said. The tire maker added that steady growth in the U.S necessitated the move to larger more efficient office space.
Effective July 1, Toyo's new address will be 6261 Katella Ave., Suite 2B, Cypress, Calif. 90630. Telephone numbers are unchanged. The company's warehousing and distribution center in Ontario, Calif., is unaffected by the headquarters move, Toyo said.
