AKRON-For the second time this year, Goodyear has begun informing dealers of a price increase, this one effective June 15.
The company will hike prices in the North American replacement market by 4 percent on Goodyear and Dunlop brands, 3 percent on Kelly and private labels and 5 percent on Aquatred and bias-ply light truck tires.
``These increases are being sought to (offset) energy cost increases in natural gas and fuel oil, and increased labor costs related to the pattern (contract) agreement established by Bridgestone/Firestone last year,'' a Goodyear spokesman said.
The last increase was in January.
