BFS chief attends N.E. convention
HYANNIS PORT, Mass.-The New England Tire & Service Association received ``straightforward and honest'' answers from Bridgestone/Firestone Inc. Chairman John Lampe during its annual convention, according to Executive Director John Whiting-Grant.
NETSA, which met April 20-22 in Cape Cod, hosted Mr. Lampe as its keynote speaker. The BFS chief executive briefly discussed last year's Firestone recall and opened the floor to a half-hour question-and-answer session, Mr. Whiting-Grant said. The meeting set a record for attendance, with nearly 100 companies present, he added.
In addition to hosting a golf tournament, the association also elected new officers, including: Larry Lesieur of Maynard & Lesieur in Nashua, N.H., president; Bob Katz of Nu-Tread Tire in East Boston, Mass., vice president; Alan Saks of Borchester Tire in Boston, treasurer; and Steve Kitchen of Biddeford Tire in Biddeford, Maine, secretary.
