AKRON (May 17, 2001)–For the second time this year, Goodyear has begun informing dealers of a price increase, this one effective June 15.
The company will hike prices in the North American replacement market by 4 percent on Goodyear and Dunlop brands, 3 percent on Kelly and private labels and 5 percent on Aquatred and bias-ply light truck tires.
“These increases are being sought to (offset) energy cost increases in natural gas and fuel oil, and increased labor costs related to the pattern (contract) agreement established by Bridgestone/Firestone last year,” a Goodyear spokesman said.
The company´s last increase was in January.
