QUINCY, Ill.(April 23, 2001)—Titan International Inc. has named Bill Campbell and Ron Schildt presidents of Titan Tire Corp. and Titan Wheel Corp., respectively.
Messrs. Campbell and Schildt both have worked in conjunction with Titan Distribution to increase Titan's wheel and tire assembly business, which the company said is growing due to the direct shipment program it has established with Caterpillar and the extension of this program to other original equipment manufacturers.
"This move will allow me to dedicate more time to Titan's growth, knowing that Bill and Ron are more than capable of handling the operational aspects," said Maurice Taylor Jr., president and CEO of Titan International.
Mr. Campbell has 28 years of manufacturing experience and most recently served as executive vice president. He began his career as a prototype engineer for White Motor Corp. in Cleveland. He had served as plant manager for Condec Corp., Nippon Miniature Bearings and Saab Scania A.B., before joining Titan in 1995 as operations manager for its Des Moines, Iowa, plant.
Mr. Schildt, who has 44 years of manufacturing experience, joined Titan in 1993 as operations manager for the Quincy wheel manufacturing facility. Prior to that, he served as plant manager for Sealed Power of St. Louis and as plant manager for Gardner Denver/Cooper Industries.
