GREEN BAY, Wis. (April 13, 2001) — Schneider Logistics Inc., a provider of technology-based logistics services, has created a new partner program that offers participating carriers savings on fuel and tires. Carriers in the program can buy fuel and tires at negotiated group discount prices they normally wouldn't be eligible for, the company said.
Goodyear is the only tire company participating in the program thus far, offering Goodyear and Kelly brand tires to Carrier Partner Program participants at consistent prices nationwide, Schneider Logistics said. Truckers can purchase tires at any nationwide location that handles these brands, the company said.
Purchasing tires also qualifies carriers to receive additional quarterly rebates based on the freight they haul for Schneider Logistics. For every 100,000 miles a fleet travels, for example, carriers could save up to $250.
Schneider Logistics provides logistics services that enable its customers to manage the flow of materials, information and funds through their supply chains. Schneider Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schneider National Inc., the self-proclaimed largest truck-load transport carrier in North America. The company claims more than 1,300 independent truckers or trucking fleets participate in its program.
"We saw this as an important plus for our network of third party ground carriers, who are vital to the work we do," said Bob Herndon, vice president Alliance Services for Schneider Logistics.
