RESTON, Va.—The Tire Association of North America has joined the Career College Association (CCA), a national association of trade schools, post-secondary schools, institutes, colleges and universities, to encourage more students to pursue tire industry careers and help dealers find and recruit new employees.
TANA said it hopes the partnership also will help tire dealers use trade schools as a resource for finding and training employees; increase the number of scholarships available for students pursuing careers in the tire industry and increase the number of trade schools that use TANA's training programs.
The association said the joint venture with the CCA will mean:
TANA will link with CCA's Web site to help dealers locate trade schools and determine what automotive training courses they offer.
CCA will hold a seminar at TANA's trade show, the International Tire Expo, October 30-November 2, 2001, in Las Vegas. The program will be titled "How to recruit and retain employees from trade and professional schools."
TANA will assist CCA in developing tire industry-specific scholarship programs.
The association said it also will promote its "TANA Tire Technician" program for mounting and demounting passenger and light truck tires in ads directed to CCA's member trade schools.
