SEATTLE—Despite a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked the Seattle area Feb. 28, tire dealers in the region reported little to no damage to their shops.
"We had no damage whatsoever," said Mike Andrews, assistant manager at Ballard T.J. Tire Center in Seattle. "We didn't even have any tires fall off. It was pretty uneventful here."
Tire Business contacted more than 10 dealerships throughout the Seattle area. At Pyramid's Tires 4 Less in Seattle, Manager Tom Cordova said his shop suffered minimal damage and went without power and phones for much of the day.
"But we're in the middle of some remodeling, so it hasn't really affected us very much," he said.
