CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 7, 2001) — After months of searching, B.F. Goodrich Co. has selected Goodrich Corp. as its new legal name.
The company expects it and a new company logo to become effective June 1. The logo being adopted will signify Goodrich´s current position in the aerospace business and its smaller role in the industrial industry.
The 130-year-old company still needs shareholder approval, which is expected at the firm´s annual meeting April 17, to make the change.
About 84 percent of the one-time rubber product manufacturer´s $4.4 billion in annual revenues is generated from the aerospace industry, compared with 7 percent in 1985, a year before it sold its tire business. The other 14 percent comes from sealing products and compressor and other highly engineered industrial goods, a portion of which are rubber-based.
