LOUISVILLE, Ky.—George Bishop, former president and CEO of Truflex/Pang Rubber Products, will be inducted into the International Tire & Rubber Association's Industry Hall of Fame April 20 in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Bishop is to be installed during a ceremony at the ITRA's awards banquet. The event is part of the 2001 World ITRA Expo, scheduled for April 19-21 at Nashville's Opryland Hotel Convention Center.
Mr. Bishop, who began his career in the tire and tube repair supply business in 1955, received the ITRA's Industry Leadership Award in 1999.
Also to be honored during the same event will be: Raymond Hawkinson Jr. of the Paul E. Hawkinson Co., who is receive the association's Industry Leadership award; Gaither Tool Co., which will receive ITRA's Pioneer award; and Friend of the Industry Awards recipients John West and Mark Whaley.
Columbus McKinnon Corp., Michelin North America Inc. and Continental Tire North American Inc. also are to receive Industry Leadership awards for their contributions in the tire and rubber recycling fields.
