Va. dealers plan annual convention
MIDLOTHIAN, Va.—The Virginia Tire and Automotive Service Dealers Association will meet March 30-April 1 for its annual convention at the Omni Hotel in Charlottesville, Va.
VTASDA's meeting will feature several speakers, including Ross Kogel, executive vice president of the Tire Association of North America, who will talk on government relations between small business and the new Bush administration, as well as industry facts and figures.
Jack Phillips of the Heafner Tire Group will present a financial management seminar, "How to manage your business to weather any economic or competitive change and what you can do to make your business more successful."
Greg Ring of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will discuss how to use the phone for successful selling.

Northwest dealers tap Williams pres
TACOMA, Wash.—The Northwest Tire Dealers Association elected Paul Williams of Pasco Tire Factory in Pasco, Wash., president during its annual expo Feb. 8-9 in Tacoma.
Other officers elected at the annual meeting include: Buzz Forbes of Auto Pros Inc. in Eugene, Ore., president-elect; Roger Overbeck of Globe Tire in Ellensburg, Wash., vice president; Randy Walker of Howard's OK Tire Factory in Toppenish, Wash., secretary/treasurer; Bill Rostad of Six Robbles in Seattle, supplier representative for Washington; Warren Secord of Warren Secord Tire in Kent, Wash., Tire Association of North America director; and Neale Simmonson of Six Robbles in Portland, supplier representative for Oregon.
